Dr. Mascaro graduated from the University of Chile Medical School in 1984. He then completed a residency in General Surgery from 1985 to 1988 from St. George's University Hospital in London, UK. Since 2011, Dr. Mascaro has been the Director of Heart and Lung Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support. Dr. Mascaro is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, UK. He is also the Lead Aortic Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Dr. Mascaro has co-authored many research projects and presented at multiple national and international meetings. He is the Tutor and Mentor of the first Fellowship in Aortic Surgery and Transplantation. He also took a Diploma in Medical Laws and Ethics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
