Dr. Sameh Abd El-Kawy was accredited as a fully qualified consultant orthopaedic surgeon in the UK in 2006. Following his training, he completed one year to specialise in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He has undertaken a knee reconstruction fellowship in London and also travelling fellowships in Holland, Switzerland and France, to learn the latest techniques in ankle and knee sports surgery from some of the world’s leading experts in their fields, such as Professor Niek Van Dijik in Amsterdam (ankle surgery) and Professor P Neyret in Lyon (knee surgery). Dr. Abd El-Kawy also is an expert in knee and ankle sports injuries, including all sports-related ankle arthroscopic surgery, knee cruciate ligaments, patello-femoral surgery and cartilage restoration surgery. He is one of 12 consultants in the department of Trauma & orthopaedics at South Warwickshire hospitals, which serves a local population of 450,000, and as one of the senior consultants in the lower limb unit. it is international training centre for Cementless arthroplasty as well as uni-compartment arthroplasty, it is well recognised centre for Sports knee surgery. Dr El-Kawy is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Member of Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine, and fellow of the British Orthopedic Association.
