    He has previously worked at the Neurology Clinic at Wurzburg University for several years and qualified as a neurology specialist in 2007. He became the Head of the Stroke Unit there in 2009. From 2010, he also led the Clinical Research Group for MS and Neuroimmunology. Dr. Christoph Kleinschnitz has specialized and achieved great success in neurology and endoscopic treatment of stroke.

    He has a strong interest in research specially thrombo-inflammatory disease processes in stroke and multiple sclerosis. He and his team aim at improving the current stroke treatment and reducing its side effects. He has co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed articles in the past 15 years.

    Prof. Kleinschnitz is a known speaker at scientific meetings and conferences of the American Association of Neurosurgeons (AANS), the Swiss Society of Physicians (or FMH), and the American Society of Neuro-Oncology.
