Dr Raman Uberoi is a consultant interventional radiologist with over 28 years of experience. His expertise covers numerous aspects of diagnostic and interventional radiology with a special focus on vascular, GI and hepatobiliary interventional procedures. He has a strong interest in clinical research and has developed several research projects, some of which are funded by local research grants.
Dr. Uberoi has been a consultant interventional radiologist for over 28 years. He currently works at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was Clinical Director of Radiology from 2003-2012.
Dr. Uberoi is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Oxford and has contributed greatly to the teaching of Radiology to Undergraduate medical students, to house officers and to radiology specialist registrars.
He is a prolific researcher with over 160 publications and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals. He is deputy editor of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, as well as serving as a senior editor on the boards of Clinical Radiology and the British Journal of Radiology.
During his speciality training, he worked at various NHS-renowned hospitals where all modalities of diagnostic Radiology are provided including vascular, cardiac, interventional radiology, neuroradiology, and sectional imaging including magnetic resonance imaging and oncology.
Along with his colleagues, he introduced and carried out a wide range of vascular, and hepatobiliary interventional procedures such as aortic stent grafting, Percutaneous access for EVAR and FEVARS, Fibroid embolisation and Gastrointestinal stents. Most recently, he has set up a distal venous arterialisation for CLI, a telephone pre-assessment clinic to prepare, counsel and consent patients prior to interventional procedures.
Dr Uberoi was the chair of the European Board of Interventional Radiology and he is a past president of the British Society of Interventional Radiology and Radiology section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
He has also served on many boards including numerous offices at the Royal College of Radiologists and many national and international societies and is currently medical director of professional practice at the RCR and a member o the executive committee of the Cardiovascular and interventional Society of Europe.
