He currently serves as Co-Director of the Coronary Center at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute and Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, USA.
Before joining University Hospitals, Prof. Cortese held senior cardiovascular leadership roles in Italy, including Chief/Director of Cardiology, Director of Sub-intensive Care, and Coordinator of Clinical and Scientific Research. His career reflects extensive experience in complex coronary, peripheral, carotid, and structural heart interventions, including TAVI and left atrial appendage closure.
Prof. Cortese is a leading international authority in drug-coated balloon therapy and complex coronary intervention.
