Dr. Eslam Al-Abadi is a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, UK. He has extensive experience in pediatrics and Rheumatology.

Dr. Eslam Al-Abadi has been a consultant paediatric rheumatologist since 2013. He has trained both at Birmingham Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, UK. Training in the largest and oldest paediatric rheumatology units in the UK has given him experience that spans the wide spectrum of rare childhood rheumatic conditions. As well as managing children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Dr. Al-Abadi is involved in all of the specialist clinics, including Juvenile Dermatomyositis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Scleroderma, Uveitis and Behcet's disease.
Dr. Al-Abadi is currently the education and research lead for the department and is the principal investigator for many national and international trials that take place in the department.
As a special interest, Dr. Al-Abadi developed a specialist clinic for children with unexplained periodic fevers and autoinflammatory conditions. Dr. Al-Abadi is interested in using MRI as an outcome measure in children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Juvenile Dermatomyositis.
Dr. Al-Abadi has been awarded a 3-year Clinical Trials Scholarship, and He is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Applied Health Research, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham. Also, He is the principal investigator for many national and international studies and trials that take place in the Rheumatology department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK.
