Dr. Husam Ebied graduated in 1999 from one of oldest and largest medical schools in the Middle East, Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt, Where he compled training for 8 years in Ain Shams University hospitals which is a major teaching hospital, then he moved to the U.k in 2007 pursued more experience and training in the U.K. Dr. Ebied had the chance to work and train in some of the largest units in the country including Liverpool, Stoke on Trent and the Royal London with special interest in Upper GI & Laparoscopic Surgery. During Last 3 years before taking being aconsultant, dr. Ebied worked as a senior fellow in Guy's & St Thomas Hospital in London which is the south east regional unit for upper gastro-oesophageal surgery and specialises in all aspects of upper gastrointestinal disease. He was involved in all aspects of a management of complex malignant and benign problems being a high volume tertiary centre. Dr. Ebied gained further experience in the field of upper GI surgery as a consultant Upper GI and General surgery in Barking, Havering and Redbridge University hospitals which is one of the busiest hospitals in the country before coming back as consultant in Guys & St Thomas Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal college of surgeons in London and holds MD and MSc degree in general surgery. Dr. Ebied has a strong academic background and has many peer-reviewed articles and publications, MSc. & MD degree including a two-year research project in thyroid disease.
