Dr Kalkat is a senior Thoracic Surgeon with more than twenty years of experience. He is a member of the Lung transplantation team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. In addition to general thoracic surgery, he is an expert in the management of airway problems and chest wall tumors, for which he gets patients referred from all over the country. He has authored 65 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Maninder joined as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the Regional Department of Thoracic Surgery, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital in 2005.
In collaboration with Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, a multidisciplinary team has been developed to treat patients with sarcomas involving the chest wall.
He has set up an airway management facility under one roof to diagnose and treat benign and malignant airway obstructions.
