He was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) in 1983 and served as Chief of Dermatology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center from 1986 to 2003. He was a Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center from 1991 to 2006.
