Italy
Dr. Enrico Robotti is an Italian plastic and reconstructive surgeon internationally known for primary and revision rhinoseptoplasty, with a particular expertise in rib cartilage grafting and dorsal reconstruction. He served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bergamo’s Ospedali Riuniti/Papa Giovanni XXIII (1997–2017) and now runs a private practice focused almost exclusively on rhinoplasty. He founded and directs the biennial Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course, one of the field’s major symposia, and served as Past President of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe and past President of SICPRE. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and educational video courses on revision rhinoplasty with rib grafting, hybrid structural-preservation techniques, piezo-assisted rbone management, and dorsal grafting.
Born in Genoa in 1959, Dr. Robotti graduated MD cum laude from the University of Genoa in 1983 and later completed board certifications in General Surgery (University of Pavia) and Plastic Surgery (University of Turin), alongside a university diploma in Facial Plastic Surgery (Nancy, France). Early training included U.K. and U.S. fellowships (Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge; Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital).
From 1997 to 2017, he led the Department of Plastic Surgery at Ospedali Riuniti (now Papa Giovanni XXIII) in Bergamo, developing comprehensive reconstructive and aesthetic programs and mentoring residents. Since then, his private practice has focused predominantly on rhinoseptoplasty, especially difficult secondary and tertiary cases often requiring rib grafts.
He founded the Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course in 2008 and has directed subsequent editions (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018), establishing it as a flagship international symposium. He also runs the Bergamo Advanced Minifellowship in Revision Rhinoseptoplasty (since 2015) and the Live Surgery with Enrico Robotti course (since 2017).
Professionally, he is Past President of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe and served as President of SICPRE (2012–2013). He has been part of ISAPS education initiatives (ISAPS Visiting Professor/Expert Program) and contributes as reviewer/author to PRS and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, publishing on SPF-SPLF dorsal grafts, piezo-assisted turbinoplasty, and hybrid preservation approaches.
