Prof. Giulio Garaffa is a Consultant Urologist at the Whittington Hospital, affiliated with University College London (UCL), and a recognized Professor of Andrology. He completed his medical training with honours at the University of Trieste, followed by a prestigious fellowship in Andrology and Complex Male Genital Reconstruction at UCLH. He earned a PhD in Biotechnologies of Human Reproduction from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome in 2015 and was appointed Full Professor in 2022. Internationally regarded as a leading expert in male genital reconstruction, he has authored over 150 publications and regularly lectures as a Visiting Professor. His clinical expertise includes male infertility, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, penile curvature correction, and urethral and penile reconstruction.

He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training with honours at the University of Trieste in Italy. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Andrology and Complex Male Genital Reconstruction at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), where he developed specialized expertise in the surgical and medical management of male reproductive and sexual health conditions. He was appointed as a Consultant Urologist in 2011.
In 2015, Mr. Garaffa earned a PhD in Biotechnologies of Human Reproduction from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, where he focused his research on genetic anomalies in infertile males. His academic and research contributions have led to his recognition as a Full Professor in 2022. He has co-authored more than 150 original research articles and book chapters and serves as a reviewer and editor for several international peer-reviewed medical journals.
Mr. Garaffa is internationally regarded as a leading authority in the field of andrology and male genital reconstruction. He has received several prestigious awards for his research and was a finalist for the Matula Award in 2016, recognizing the most promising urologist under the age of 40. His surgical expertise is frequently showcased in international masterclasses, where he is invited to perform complex live surgeries and share his techniques with peers and trainees worldwide.
His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of urological and andrological conditions. He has particular interest and experience in the management of male infertility, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, congenital penile curvature, urethral strictures, and penile reconstruction. Mr. Garaffa is also actively involved in the development of regenerative therapies for sexual dysfunction, making significant contributions to both clinical care and academic advancement in his field.
