Prof. Jay Khastgir graduated from Kasturba Medical Medical, Mangalore, India

in 1991. He trained in the South West of England and obtained experience in his subspecialist areas of interest at Bristol and other centres including Liege, Maastricht, Paris, and Mansoura.

Prof. Jay Khastgir is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Swansea. He has expertise in a wide range of urological conditions including female incontinence, overactive bladder, lower urinary tract symptoms, benign prostatic enlargement, neurogenic bladder dysfunction (individuals with spinal injuries, MS etc), and male incontinence (e.g. following radical prostatectomy for cancer).

He is a Senior Clinical Tutor at the School of Medicine, Swansea University, where he sits on the curriculum development board and leads 3 teaching modules for undergraduates.

Prof. Khastgir is on the faculty of the European School of Urology (ESU) through which he delivers postgraduate teaching in urology. He has conducted and lectured in teaching courses in Salzburg, Munich, Berlin, and Lipaja (Latvia) amongst others.

He is the sub-editor of the journal Urology News, and is on the editorial board for several medical journals such as the World Journal of Urology
