Miklós Garami, MD, MSc, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Pediatric Oncology Unit at the 2nd Department of Pediatrics (Pediatric Center), Semmelweis University in Budapest. He is a board-certified pediatric hemato-oncologist and clinical oncologist, holding a PhD in human molecular genetics and a habilitation. He is recognized for combining pediatric oncology practice with molecular and targeted-therapy–oriented clinical research, including leadership roles within Hungary’s national pediatric oncology framework. His academic output includes extensive peer-reviewed publications with a high h-index and several thousand citations, reflecting sustained contribution to pediatric oncology research.
Upon graduating from Semmelweis University, professor Garami undertook his training at the 2nd department of Pediatrics (Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary), the leading academic center for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. He then spent 4 years as a Postdoctoral fellow in University of California at San Francisco (Metabolic Research Unit, UCSF, San Francisco, USA).
Doctor Garami is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Semmelweis University and Deputy Head of the 2nd Department of Pediatrics at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary.
He is also Head of the Hungarian Pediatric Cancer Registry and Secretary of the Hungarian Pediatric Oncology Network.
