Prof. Ioanna Nixon is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, one of the biggest oncology centres in Europe. She has served in a number of National and International leadership roles, such as Director of Oncology and Lead for the Scottish Sarcoma Network. She is a Professor at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK, and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Cancer Sciences at Glasgow University. She holds a PhD in Radiotherapy, a Master's degree in public health (MPH), and recently graduated from the Scottish Quality and Safety (SQS) Fellowship. Her research has a focus on radiotherapy toxicity and health-related quality of life for cancer patients, as their well-being is at the core of all her actions. In 2023, she received the prestigious Scottish Women’s Award for service in medicine.

She works at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Center, one of the biggest oncology centers in Europe, where she has a big uro-oncology practice, specializing in prostate, bladder, and renal cancer.
She is the lead for regional renal radiotherapy. She has served in a number of National and International leadership roles, such as Director of Oncology Services, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and Lead for the Scottish Sarcoma Network. She is a Professor at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Cancer Sciences at Glasgow University, UK.
